All committees require friendly and warm volunteers who enjoy interacting with other people as the BNP Paribas Open is a very service oriented business.

Administration Office
Volunteers assist in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden administration office at the front desk reception area from January through March. Computer skills, telephone and general office skills are required.

Ambassadors
Volunteers assist patrons with general tournament information including pricing, location and seating information.  Ambassadors are positioned near each box office/gate entry to answer patron questions prior to entering the grounds or arriving at the ticket sales windows.  Good people skills are required.  Detailed stadium and tournament grounds knowledge is required.  Strong knowledge of general tournament information is very helpful.

Ball Kid Coordinators
Ball Kid Coordinators are responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising more than 300 ball kids during tryouts, qualifying rounds and the tournament. Pre-tournament training and orientation sessions are mandatory. Training sessions will take place late January or early February. Knowledge of the sport is required. 

Box Office/Will Call
Volunteers assist patrons who have purchased tickets by phone.  When the patron comes to will call they must present identification to be verified by the volunteer.  The volunteer then locates the ticket envelope and obtains the customer's signature.  Good filing and customer service skills are required.  Box Office/Tickets Volunteers sell tickets by computer to patrons over the phone and/or at the box office windows.  They also assist patrons with any questions they may have with regards to the tournament.  Average to above average computer knowledge and good customer service skills are required.

Club Suites
Suite volunteers assist in a variety of areas including stadium suites, the Garden Club (private dining area for tickets holders), sponsor parties and/or functions and gifting. If you are a gracious host or hostess this is your committee.

Credentials
Volunteers organize and distribute all of the official tournament credentials and scan these credentials at public entrances to the grounds.  Volunteers with strong typing and computer skills may apply for consideration as a computer operator to help create credentials.  Pre-tournament hours are required for training and early preparation of credentials.  This area is the first stop for Tournament sponsors, VIP guests, media, vendors and the players.  If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and have excellent people skills, you’ll love this committee.
 
Gates
This committee controls access to the grounds at three different gates. These volunteers make the first and last impression that the tournament’s patrons and participants remember. They check tickets for patrons, players and guests. This is a great way to meet and see patrons, sponsors etc. from all over the world.

Information/Programs
These volunteers organize all tournament, Indian Wells Tennis Garden and Coachella Valley information in order to be the most informative to all guests with their inquiries. Stationed throughout the site, volunteers market and sell tournament programs and daily draw sheets. Good people, sales and money handling skills are needed.

Lost & Found
Volunteers receive, tag and record all lost items turned into Lost & Found.  Computer and office skills required.

Media Hospitality
This committee greets all media upon arrival in the media lobby, distributes pertinent information, assists in day to day media needs as well as providing and maintaining the hospitality.

Media Services
Volunteers work directly with Media Director in compiling event and information electronically, maintaining a professional work environment for media.  Computer and digital expertise required.

Player Services
Volunteers assist all players and coaches with tournament services.  Foreign language skills are appreciated. Volunteers work closely with reservations, private housing, player check-in and player tickets.

Private Housing
Volunteers assist with reservations and organize private housing for players and officials. Volunteers work closely with transportation and player services committees. Pre-tournament planning is necessary.

Renewal Tent
Volunteers assist Classic Series patrons in the renewal of their seats and take new orders for the following year’s event.  This process requires knowledge of the stadium and various seating categories.  Computer skills are not necessary. Good people skills are required and sales experience is helpful.  Training for use of credit card machines and administrative processes will be provided.
 
Scorekeepers
Volunteers are needed to operate the electronic scoreboards and assist IDS (Information Display Systems) with scoring needs. A good knowledge of tennis, good hearing and vision is necessary.

Shuttles
These volunteers assist patrons by providing shuttle transportation on the grounds of the tournament by following a shuttle route. All volunteers must have golf cart/shuttle-driving experience.

Special Events
These volunteers work directly with the event promotions department working on special events, promotions, gifting, decorating, Garden Club and more!  Being creative is appreciated.

Transportation
Volunteers drive tournament vehicles (vans and rental cars) to pick up players, media, guests, sponsors at the airport and private housing. A driver’s license and a good driving record are mandatory. Volunteers must be 21 years of age.

Ushers
Volunteers work the main stadium and outside courts checking tickets and directing ticket holders to their seats. This is demanding on the feet and there is a lot of sun exposure. Ushers are also responsible for patron access into the main stadium, checking all tickets and credentials.

Volunteer Services
Volunteers must be multi-tasked and personable. Volunteers distribute radios, meal coupons and information to volunteers and oversee the Volunteer Center/Lounge; keeping lounge area and tables clean. assist with organizing volunteer uniform distribution. They assist volunteers with any comments, suggestions or complaints and act as the liaison to staff management. They also oversee the volunteer lounge, information and scheduling boards. They provide additional volunteers for uncovered positions.
