All committees require friendly and warm volunteers who enjoy interacting with other people as the BNP Paribas Open is a very service oriented business.
Volunteers assist in the Indian Wells Tennis Garden administration office at the front desk reception area from September through May. Telephone and general office skills are necessary.
"Ball Moms" and "Dads" are responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising more than 250 ball kids during tryouts, qualifying rounds and the tournament. Pre-tournament training and orientation sessions mandatory. Training sessions will take place late January or early February.
Volunteers assist in the box office selling tickets by phone, answering phones, distributing ticket brochures, distributing event information and tickets to patrons during the tournament. Computer and sales experience is helpful but not necessary. Good people skills are required.
Volunteers create, organize and distribute all of the official tournament credentials and scanning these credentials at all public entrances to the grounds. Computer skills are mandatory and specific training on credential program and scanning is provided. Additional hours are required pre-tournament to cover training and early preparation of credentials.
This committee controls access to the grounds at three different gates. These volunteers make the first and last impression that the tournament’s patrons and participants remember. They check tickets and credentials for patrons, players and guests. This is a great way to meet and see patrons, sponsors etc. from all over the world.
Hospitality volunteers assist in a variety of areas including stadium suites, the Garden Club (private dining area for tickets holders), sponsor parties and/or functions and gifting. If you are a gracious host or hostess this is your committee.
These volunteers organize all tournament, Indian Wells Tennis Garden and Coachella Valley information in order to be the most informative to all guests with their inquiries. Stationed throughout the site, volunteers market and sell tournament programs and daily draw sheets. Good people, sales and money handling skills are needed.
This committee greets all media upon arrival in the media lobby, distributes pertinent information, assists in day to day media needs as well as providing and mantaining the hospitality.
Media HospitalityVolunteers work directy with Media Director in compiling event and information electronically, maintaining a professional work environment for media. Computer and digital experience required.
Volunteers assist all players and coaches with tournament services and players’ locker rooms. Pre-tournament planning is necessary to prepare credentials and social activities. Foreign language skills are appreciated. Volunteers work closely with reservations, private housing and transportation committees.

Volunteers are needed to operate the electronic scoreboards and assist IDS (Information Display Systems) with scoring needs. A good knowledge of tennis, good hearing and vision is necessary.
These volunteers assist patrons by providing shuttle transportation on the grounds of the tournament by following a shuttle route. All volunteers must have shuttle-driving experience.
Volunteers drive tournament vehicles (vans and rental cars) to pick up players, media, guests, sponsors at the airport and private housing. A driver's license and a good driving record are mandatory. Volunteers must be 25 years of age.
Volunteers work the main stadium and outside courts checking tickets and directing ticket holders to their seats. This is demanding on the feet and there is a lot of sun exposure. Ushers are also responsible for patron access into the main stadium, checking all tickets and credentials.
Volunteers assist with uniform distribution, volunteer comments, suggestions or complaints and act as the liaison to staff management. They also oversee the volunteer lounge, information and scheduling boards. They provide additional volunteers for uncovered positions. Pre-tournament planning is necessary.
