BNP Paribas Open Senior Cup

Celebrating its 19th year, the BNP Paribas Open Senior Cup is a world-class amateur competition hosted at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden annually following the professional BNP Paribas Open.

Formerly the Palm Desert Senior Cup, it is located in one of the most spectacular tennis destinations in the beautiful Southern California Desert while featuring more than 700 amateur players competing in a doubles team format for both Seniors and Super Seniors. This unique tournament provides excitement and fun with players arriving early to watch the final professional matches of the BNP Paribas Open and then competing at some of the most beautiful country clubs and resort destinations in the heart of the Palm Springs area and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Format: Doubles Team format where each team consists of six (6) players plus substitutes with a minimum of seven (7) players required. Players enter as teams not individuals.

Divisions: Based on NTRP rating there are two groups for both men and women.

Women: Seniors (50+) 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Super Seniors (60+) 3.5, 4.0.

Men: Seniors (50+) 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Super Seniors (60+) 3.5, 4.0.

Round Robin Play: Play will be round-robin style for all preliminary matches using 8-game pro set system, regular scoring with a 12 point tie-breaker at 7-all. Tiebreaker: If two or more teams are tied at the end of preliminary rounds, a tiebreak set will be played among the teams that are tied.

Entry Fee: Entry fee includes a ticket to 2012 BNP Paribas Open Championship matches on Sunday, March 18, kick-off breakfast on Monday, March 19, player reception on Wednesday, March 21, new balls for each match, refreshments courtside, and awards for all finalists. Complete roster and entry fee of $200 per person must be received at the BNP Paribas Open Senior Cup office prior to March 1, 2012. Entry fees received after March 1 will be $225 per person. Absolutely no entry fee refunds after March 15, 2012.

Official Roster: Only players on the official 2012 roster may participate. The number of players on a roster is determined by the team captain. Captains, under penalty of having the team disqualified, must certify that all players are entered at the proper NTRP level. A minimum of seven players are required per team.

Application: Deadline is Saturday, March 3, 2012. Registration will open on December 1st.
