Celebrating its 20th year, the BNP Paribas Open Senior Cup is a world-class amateur competition hosted at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden annually following the professional BNP Paribas Open.
It is located in one of the most spectacular tennis destinations in the beautiful Southern California Desert while featuring more than 700 amateur players competing in a doubles team format for both Seniors and Super Seniors. This unique tournament provides excitement and fun with players arriving early to watch the final professional matches of the BNP Paribas Open and then playing at some of the most beautiful country clubs and resort destinations in the heart of the Palm Springs area and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.
Format: Doubles Team format where each team consists of six (6) players plus substitutes with a minimum of seven (7) players required. Players enter as teams not individuals.
Divisions: Based on NTRP rating there are two groups for both men and women.
Women: Seniors (50+) 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Super Seniors (60+) 3.5, 4.0.
Men: Seniors (50+) 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 and Super Seniors (60+) 3.5, 4.0.
Round Robin Play: Play will be round-robin style for all preliminary matches using 8-game pro set system, regular scoring with a 12 point tie-breaker at 7-all. Tiebreaker: If two or more teams are tied at the end of preliminary rounds, a tiebreak set will be played among the teams that are tied.
