New Marketing Video Showcases Tournament

The BNP Paribas Open has released a new marketing video showcasing many of the unique aspects that make it one of the world’s foremost tennis destinations. The tournament, which is the most-attended ATP World Tour and WTA tennis event in the world, will be held March 5-18, 2012 at the beautiful Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

The video, which can be found on www.bnpparibasopen.com, highlights the picturesque setting, rare fan and player experiences and world-class tennis that can be found at the BNP Paribas Open. In addition, top players such as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Caroline Wozniacki and Maria Sharapova give their perspectives on why they love the tournament.

“It’s a nice place,” says 16-time grand slam and three-time BNP Paribas Open champion Federer. “The players really enjoy their time here, so do I. The weather is picture perfect, the scenery, blue skies the whole thing.”

“I really think it’s a great facility,” says defending BNP Paribas Open Champion and World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki. “I mean the center court is huge and there’s always a great atmosphere there.”

“The video really captures the majesty and intimacy of the BNP Paribas Open,” said tournament director Steve Simon. “It’s the next best thing to actually coming out and witnessing the event for yourself.”

Starting Wednesday, September 7-Sunday, September 11, fans from the U.S. and Canada who have signed up on the tournament’s email list or are a Facebook fan, can take a quick three-question online quiz about the video, which will make them eligible to win the Grand Prize – a new Championship Weekend Mini Package for two.

The Championship Weekend Mini-Package (March 17-18) includes men's semifinal singles matches and all final championship matches including doubles finals on Saturday and singles finals on Sunday. This is the tournament’s newest ticket package and allows fans to witness the culmination of nearly two weeks of world-class tennis.

In addition to the Grand Prize, fans that take the quiz will also have the opportunity to win tennis balls signed by defending BNP Paribas Open champions and current World No. 1’s Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki.
