The National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) Network, founded in 1968 by Charlie Pasarell, the late Arthur Ashe and Sheridan Snyder, is a non-profit organization that reaches out to children through recreational tennis programs to help promote the positive attributes of sportsmanship, self-esteem and fitness. The Coachella Valley chapter of the National Junior Tennis & Learning Network continues to reach out to children ages 5 to 18 across the Valley by providing programs that promote education and a healthy lifestyle. Through the many events, clinics, and tournaments offered, the NJTL is able to give thousands of children an opportunity to learn and play as well as grow the game of tennis at the grass roots level. Since its inception in 2002, TCVF has given more than $1.6 million to charities in the area including (but not limited to) youth recreational, educational and well-care programs.
“The BNP Paribas Open remains supportive of grassroots causes within the Coachella Valley, and we’re excited about what we have been able to accomplish,” said Simon. “Our commitment to NJTL and the Champions Volunteer Foundation has been very rewarding, and we look forward to continuing to build upon our efforts in the future.”
