From Serena Williams and Andy Murray to Johanna Konta and Gael Monfils, all 20 of the Top 10 men and women in professional tennis are set to play the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells next month.
Less than a month from the first ball being struck at the 2017 BNP Paribas Open, all 20 of the top tennis players in the world – that includes Top 10 ranked stars in both the men’s and women’s games – are set to descend on Indian Wells Tennis Garden in March.
The question is: Are you going to manage to see each of them play?
Serena Williams and Andy Murray lead their respective fields, but challengers include Novak Djokovic, Angelique Kerber, Roger Federer, Simona Halep, Rafael Nadal, Garbiñe Muguruza and more.
We think “stacked” suffices … just barely.
Joining Williams in the women’s field is not only Kerber, Halep and Muguruza, but also Karolina Pliskova, Dominika Cibulkova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Madison Keys and Johanna Konta, the current top 10 in the WTA rankings.
As for Murray, he has Djokovic, Federer and Nadal to deal with, as well as Stan Wawrinka, Milos Raonic, Kei Nishikori, Marin Cilic, Dominic Thiem and Gael Monfils to worry about, the best 10 presently on the ATP World Tour.
Among the 20 players, there are 78 Grand Slam singles titles, as well as 15 trophies hoisted in singles at the BNP Paribas Open in the past. It makes the 2017 tournament the most coveted of the young season following a thrilling Australian Open, where both Federer and Serena won historic major titles.
Who’s your favorite? And who are you hoping to see up close at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden? Tickets are still available for throughout the two weeks… the stars will be there… waiting for you.
